- Sendai Japan is located in Miyagi prefecture
- largest city in the Tohoku (northeast) region and the pace is not as hectic as Tokyo's
- a back garden that even the Japanese adore
- February is the best season to have oysters and strawberries in Sendai
- all the tents are filled with strawberries and the air is filled with strawberries
- unlike in Cameron Highlands, the strawberries in Sendai are planted in rows in greenhouses
- though the temperature is adjustable in greenhouses, strawberries must be guarded from pests and bacteria
- soil sterilisation is used and the saplings take a year to grow and produce strawberries
- temperature must be kept above 20 deg C
- to pluck the strawberries, hold it with 2 fingers (with the fingers closing towards you) before tugging at it lightly
- the strawberries are very soft and will be damaged if plucked incorrectly
- you can have all the strawberries you want for 1500 yen (S$15 or S$18) in half an hour
- must be selective when plucking strawberries, and the odd and irregular looking ones are the sweetest and juiciest
- if you don't finish what you've plucked and take them out, you'd be fined
