TK sleep routine

At 6m TK likes to sleep lying on his tummy, occasionally tossing and adjusting..

he'd take his milk at ard 720p till 8plus
sometimes earlier
if TK is hungry since last fed at 3p
and he will feed again at 630p

before falling asleep on his mattress or in his own cot

The room temperature should not be too high or else he'd have difficulty sleeping.

If need, an electric fan should be placed not too near,

so the room is ventilated.

TK will sleep through the night most of the time

TK will wake up at 11plus 12midnight for the next feed,

sometimes he'd only wake up for feed at 4plus5 in the morning
(sleeping more than 7h).

On 10 Apr 2011 at 1a TK cried for milk so Dardy
(just went to bed) fed aft las feed at 610p the day before (slept at 635p for more than 6h).

It's not advisable to carry him to sleep.
I read that if
if you always feed or rock your baby to sleep, he'll never have a chance to learn how to soothe himself to sleep. 
TK likes to play with his 'towel toy'. 

TK was put to sleep in his own cot at 4m+

as suggested by his Grandaunt & later infant tr..

10 Safety tips in your baby's nursery

The Article in 'Straits Times' dated 21Jan 2011 page C1 is so saddening.
A 4-month-old infant died in his sleep at his babysitter's house while lying on tummy. 

• Make sure baby's cot is deep enough to be safe for your bb, that the bars are the correct distance apart, make sure the distance between each bar is no less than 2.5cm (1") and no more than 5cm (2").
• Use lead-free paint. If your bb breathes in lead dust, lead fumes or swallows anything with lead in it, he can get lead poisoning, which can cause learning disabilities and other neurological problems.
• Once bb can push up on his hands and knees, remove any toys that hang across the cot. When he can pull up, put the mattress in its lowest position to prevent him from climbing out.
• Check the cot to be sure that the mattress fits snugly. Avoid corner-post extensions and decorative cut outs in the headboard or foot board which could trap baby's limbs.
• Avoid curtains and blinds with cords, as dangling cords carry a risk of strangulation or tie them up out of your baby’s reach.
• Position the cot away from direct sunshine, windows, heaters, lamps and furniture which can be used to climb out of the cot.
• Put your bb to sleep on his back, with his feet at the bottom of his crib or cot, to decrease the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) or now commonly known as SUDI.
• Don't put a pillow in the cot as bb needs a surface that is firm and flat.
• Always keep the drop side of his cot up and locked before you leave the nursery.
• Keep toiletries such as baby lotion and wipes out of your baby’s reach.

Faulty cot mattress

I called and emailed and still get same reply..fm same personel, exactly what the manager mentioned in the email reply. Luckily for us, we kept the plastic cover and the yellow sticker on the mattress upon delivery.

After more than 2mth from the date of purchase, the seller was kind enough..after much negotiation, and agreed to arrange the supplier to exchange for us.

Bb TK hardly slept in the cot as he seemed to prefer sleeping and resting in the rocker instead.
We only realise it was faulty when Little Aunt pointed out to us during bb 1st month.

Initially, it was to have the exchange at the store, ie we bring the faulty mattress to the store and together with the plastic cover, and the yellow sticker, it is subject to conditions of the mattress for exchange. Eventually, of course, the exchange is at our place, and exchange is only possible, provided we meet the criteria: (1) the yellow label (2) the plastic cover.

Darling spent some time late at night finding high and low for it inside the household shelter after re-arranging the whole storeroom full of Bb's necessities and gifts. I vaguely remembered folding it & placing it inside a bag containing plastic & paper bags.

In the end, after the replacement, the delivery young man didn't even take a look at the plastic cover (or checked if it's the right one), and asked me upon stepping into the nursery, 'what's wrong with the mattress?'

'It's obvious that the mattress is not level by looking with naked eyes.'
The delivery man then went on to remove the mattress from the cot, and I helped to cut open the plastic cover, and he put it onto the cot for me to check the condition of the mattress, as instructed by the seller.

30th week of Pregnancy

- with mum around, I can have some time to read, source for NB stuff from books, magazines and online, update blog etc and have home-cooked food, and less housework to do
- went back to office to settle application of Maternity Leave matters and UPA leave for 10h-staff retreat on Thur

- to my horror, my office desk was messy with a little eraser dust and stationery here & there, and still some work left 'untouched' inside my briefcase (my colleagues were afraid to touch my stuff cuz they fear I'd 'eat them up, roar at them if they mess up my desk further?)
- I'd to go to office again, to complete what I'd plan to do (spent too much time talking about hand-over-work, and haven't enough time to do the important priority No.1)
- I'v only been away for 2mth, leaving the work on the desk (some have been passed/sent by 'courier') but still haven't been 'touched' and no action taken
- took me ~3x5h to clear the stuff, label accordingly for my 'cover', settle my application for mat leave, claim my medical bill, check/print emails (for my cover-to-be is unable to access the emails yet)
- finally can 'rest in peace' knowing what had / hadn't been done while I'm still conscious (Darling helped to complete some work, and passed/courier all my work over)

- went for groceries shopping (bought yogurt, organic apples, lettuce, bread, buns etc all on promotion except the bread) to last till the next shopping 5 days later
- with the baby cot delivered, there's one less thing to shop for (others feeding, toiletries, baby care eg. diapers & bag, changing mat etc and stroller, carrier etc)
- Darling and I have to think more than twice before deciding to make any purchase, esp when there're so many to buy, so many places available, every cent counts (same product may cost 10-20% less if on promo or purchased online)
- GSS is coming to an end, with some stalls having promo till end Jun ie this is the last weekend shopping for our NB

- my feet both swollen for the past few days, with the right more swollen, but without pain, only my back ache (probably from past injury or standing/walking for hours or the side effects of Keppra - the anti fits medication)
- having runny nose most of the mornings since last week (the weather has turned cold and raining in the early mornings) or could be due to the spread of 'germs' while outside, or my weak immune system now
- gg to GP for MC next week, and gynae consultation (should be able to get MC till mat leave in Aug) with pa accompanying
- little one has been tossing-turning more these days, and with more strength (hope to gain 1-2kg these past 3 weeks so for this final trimester can gain 5kg as I've only gained 0.5kg so far)
- still thinking of what to name our son, so many babies' names have been used by people around us...something that is unique, easy to say and write, and meaningful...

- on Sat night, the whole right foot was so swollen, even veins were visible near the front (towards the last toe)
- Darling and I were doing budgeting and simple living for our small household with 1 child on the way may cost us $60k/yr
- these few days feel hungry every & 2h, and should have gained abit weight 
- went to compare prices of bb wipes, milk bottles etc

29th week of Pregnancy

- I had 'requested permission from Darling' to do the following under the companion of mum next week:
1. to make a trip to the office to settle the Maternity Leave application matters
2. to backup a copy of the doc saved on my laptop desktop and clean/tidy the desk if need
3. to complete the Heart2Heart forms and pass to my colleagues for follow-up if need
4. to brief any queries my colleague has who will be taking over my duties

- have to do some new-born (NB) shopping during the weekend
- Aunt maybe coming to visit me (already bought some NB stuff and snacks for me earlier ~$100) and some used milk bottles & brushes
- Ma knee pain and was given 3 days MC, and we went for lunch together and bought some lingerie before shopping for some groceries
- Darling and I plan to buy the cot bed on Sat instead as he's out for some seminar (planned to get it during his lunch break) near his office

- mum & I went to the library to read the papers, and borrowed some books on pregnancy diet
- my best friend visited me at home with her NB Little K, and only after a while did she cry (when my friend was taking her tea-break after feeding bb)
- has some bb clothes and a used cot bed if we need, but Darling decided to get a brand new one for our Little Ones..No.1, No.2, No.3..No.4 :)

- my swelling is better after raising the feet on pillows and boster while sleeping, and applying foot spray for tired feet
- veins are more visible than before, and seem to move higher to my ankle areas
- went to xin.msn.com to load the TV 8 show (connection in the afternoon is very poor) for mum had been missing the show for the past 3weeks (reach home almost 8pm)
- just learnt how to load MTV / KTV links from Darling and on my own put photos to the blog, felt a sense of complishment

28th week of Pregnancy

- went marketing and grocery shopping almost every other day
- little baby was so active at night that I was kept awake from 11pm till almost 1plus (kept moving, kicking and boxing inside me)
- I even heard our neighbour above throwing/pouring things/water out from the kitchen windows onto our air-con ledge (full of litter even before we move in)

- bro came to tell me about the new launch of PruFirst Gift, coverage for expectant mums and unborn child (no 10-mth waiting period) and settle my hospitalisation plan matters
- gave me a pre-natal journal where I can put photos of ultrasound scan and record the dates of photos taken and the progress during pregnancy
- went shopping for newborn (NB) at Kiddy Palace and compared the prices of diapers with those offered at the supermarket, and even the items on offer are priced higher than those sold at the supermarket
- bought some for NB (overall at $15.92, UP $19.90, and a set of T&J pyjamas at $14.90, and 12pc Pureen baby napkins at $17.88, UP $22.35)
- only bought a pkt of Pureen Madame maternity pads 20S for myself at $7.95 (supermarket selling Kotex maternity pads adhesive 10S for $6.01)

- pa came to buy/have dinner with us on Wed (bought a box of salty pastry from Bugis)
- ma going to accompany me to the gynae for consultation after work on Friday (asked pa along, but he almost forgot about it)
- pa finally made it, and gynae said foetus had gained abt 500+g (77% which is equivalent to the weight I gained compared to last mth) and ultrasound scan 3 photos to show darling (head is on right side of my tummy)
- we went for our dinner after that, and shopped briefly for baby cot (offer at $398 which bedding+mattress+toy =48% disc) before gg home (darling waiting for dinnner)

- on Sat, darling and I went to Subway for lunch (offer at new outlet) and we chose to take up promo for 2 free cookies with footlong (honeyoats bread)
- Baby Baby (Tel: 63389129) at marina square (another outlet at UE Square) has stroller Amigo from Germany $380.70 (UP $430+), members enjoy 5% discount
- weighs 7kg (colour: blue and light brown), and can carry up to 15kg (NB-infants-young children 0mth-4yrs)
- went to Carrefour to buy some drinks, and ended up buying more (cakes, sushi, yogurt drinks, oyster mushrooms etc = $14+) :)
- my left foot (near the end of 2nd last toe) was abit painful after a day of walking/shopping

- on Sun, darling went for a haircut and we went to see/shop for more baby strollers, cot bed etc.
- we prefer something of lighter colour as the colour of the bedroom floor is dark (this is the same price as that we saw @Kiddy, but w/o bedding set)
- my right foot near the inner ankle was abit swollen after long hours of standing/walking

27th week of Pregnancy

31may-6jun

- my tummy suddenly grew alot and I suspect I'd gain another 2-3kg when I go for gynae consultation next week
- my hubby and I just recovered from flu, fever and runny nose, and we spent the weekend mostly resting at home instead shopping for newborn (NB) stuff
- I felt weak (whole body muscle ache) and hardly did any revision and/or reading for the coming Dharma class course review on Friday as planned

- fortunately the course review turned out to the exact questions prepared for us by the teacher (phew!), except some of the MCQ choices are phrased at random
- my hubby and I went to buy a pair of new sandals for him, went to the banks and lunched at Vivo City (pasta and pizza which we haven't eaten for quite sometime), bought a short-sleeved shirt, and socks
- plan to shop for NB stuff (crib) next week with pa on his off days or after work in the evenings during weekends
- went for our grocery/household/ health supplements shopping at Somerset MRT, Winsland House on Sat
