Good news! Recently my blog attracted alot of attention. Bad news. I don't quite enjoy being in the 'limelight'. Coincidently, when I bumped into the cleaner as usual on my way to Childcare, she didn't return my greeting after making eye contact briefly. Teacher greeted another child & parent and chose to ignore us again this morning at the door as she made her way out.
The other time I had to greet her again, she may not have heard me, so I specifically asked my child to greet Teacher's name before Teacher greeted my child. I was in a rush that morning so I told Teacher the school Uniform is in my child's school bag, as I usually & obediently put on for my child myself outside the Childcare (while waiting for Teacher to open the door if we were early).
Teacher told me students must put on school Uniform, as instructed from above, and I have to put on myself. My child miss me and cried at the door, and I hurriedly left after I excused myself politely. Surely, putting on school Uniform over my child's pyjamas shouldn't take much effort or cause any unpleasant feelings, or at least, that's how I feel, correct me if wrong.
So I guess it's bad news if we're not in the 'popular' list. Anyone we know or met on the street or bus would praise our children to be obedient and well-behaved, even offered little treats even though we've not met before. We were not officially awarded 'Best Parent and Child of the Year', but we were kind of close.
I went to check the prices for the box of 6 Oreo wafer sticks in the supermarkets and minimarts, but to no avail. No stock. No longer on the shelves. A salesgirl offered a suggestion that the mart is going to order CNY goodies, so no more Oreo wafer sticks. I accepted with a pinch of salt and bid her thanks.
I found it unbelievable that a box of Oreo wafer sticks costs more than S$5. I was feeling down and hungry so I took one packet last night. That didn't help much. Only much later did I chanced upon another major supermarket selling at promotional rate 3 for $3.
That was what my child received at the recent Christmas gift exchange in Childcare. Another child didn't get anything at all. We had prepared 2 sets of gifts worth more than the minimum amount stated.
We received gifts of love from my children's teacher. Thank you, Teacher. We don't have pricey brandy gifts, but we had gifts for everyone for the whole lot of people whom we love and respect, of course, some would return and reject the gift saying they don't need or not suitable, but we understand.
Have a great post Christmas Monday! I met an old neighbour this morning and she treated me to a small loaf of bread or loti after a small chat before we both went on our separate ways to our busy day. Thank you and may you be healthy and happy!
